Concerning Dogs and
Those Who Walk Them

Hello, my name is Seth and I would like to tell you about Walkee Doggie and myself. When I graduated from Tulane, I–along with many other graduates–came to New York City in hopes of landing a prosperous job. As I started the interview process, I realized that the jobs available to a college graduate were boring and lacked spice. At the time I was also in search of a caretaker for Ralph, my half Black Labrador, half Rottweiler. After weeks of searching, I was unable to find anything that suited my needs, and the caretakers I did find were completely unaffordable. I made some discoveries along the way though. First, I found that most “group walks” consisted of dogs being tied up in front of a building while the walker fetched animals from the surrounding block. In the end, an “hour walk” was actually a “twenty minute walk”, and a “forty minute sit”. Second, I found that the “qualified handlers” were sorely underpaid and had no real experience with dogs. Finally, there was no guarantee that Ralph would be walked at all, and for the money I planned to pay, I wanted some personal attention for my pup and me. I realized that Manhattan simply did not have what my pup and I needed, and the solution was clear.

After some careful market research, I found that a dog walking service that takes care of a dog’s specific needs as well as its owner’s was viable. What better way to end my job hunt and satisfy my need to work with dogs? (I’ve often imagined myself as a Veterinarian, if it weren’t for the blood) I decided it was my duty to start a business that truly caters to my fellow dog owning Manhattanites!

That is why our groups, or packs, never exceed three dogs. We also have an in-depth interview process that assures our handlers are able to follow any specific requests for your dogs.

The benefits of our walks are significant. For one, your pup will be in great shape (our walks can even be somewhat rugged, at your request). Another benefit is that your pup will be tuckered out for the rest of the day and will not be as antsy for you to get home. After the walk, we supply a Walkee Doggie Daily Progress Report that allows the handler to communicate with you and let you know how your pup’s day went. In addition, at your request, we supply daily e-mails to your work or home. The response to this has been overwhelming. Many times, clients have said that it simply brightens their day to find out what a wonderful time their pups have been having. At Walkee Doggie, we don’t just walk dogs and supply numerous other options to make your lives easier, we enjoy the walks with your dogs and take care to pay attention to your pup’s needs. We strive to conduct walks that are fun for your dog.

In addition to the other options that are outlined throughout this website, we have conducted puppy raising and behavior modification on certain occasions. In short, we hope to be a positive influence on your pup’s life, which in turn will make your pup an even more positive influence on your life.

Thank you very much!
